The House Oversight Committee heard testimony Wednesday from a number of witnesses about their experience with unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) — or UFOs.

It marked the first congressional hearing on UAPs since last year, after career intelligence official David Grusch’s allegations that the Pentagon was operating a secret UFO retrieval program. Lawmakers that attended a closed door briefing earlier this year on the subject also left with mixed feelings.

The list of witnesses includes a former Pentagon insider Luis Elizondo, retired Navy Rear. Adm. Timothy Gallaudet, journalist Michael Shellenberger and former NASA administrator Michael Gold.

The event was scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. EST.
