Pam Bondi, President-elect Trump’s pick for attorney general, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday morning.
Bondi was the president-elect’s second choice for the role after former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) withdrew his name from consideration amid controversy.
The former Florida attorney general was also a senior adviser on the defense team for Trump’s first impeachment and was later one of several Republicans who showed up in New York last year to back him during his hush money trial, which resulted in his felony conviction.
Bondi’s confirmation hearing was scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST.
