Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and other House GOP leaders on Wednesday morning discussed their plan to advance President Trump’s sprawling agenda.
The press conference came as Republican lawmakers scramble to find a solution to internal division over the Trump’s administration’s tax and budget cut proposals after they were forced to punt a key vote this week — and as the Senate inches closer to moving ahead with its alternative plan.
The deadline to avert a government shutdown is March 14.
Johnson said last month he plans to pass most of the president’s agenda by Memorial Day, or May 26.
