Watch live: Vance gives remarks on future of Ukraine at Munich Security Conference

NOW PLAYING

Vice President Vance is set to give remarks from the Munich Security Conference in Germany Friday morning, with a heavy focus on the future of Ukraine as its war with Russia nears the three-year mark.

Vance is also expected to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

His remarks come a day after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth seemingly walked back his previous comments when he suggested that it’s not “realistic” for Ukraine to join NATO or to expect to return to pre-2014 borders at the end of the conflict. On Thursday, he said “everything is on the table” in negotiations with Kyiv and Moscow.

President Trump, who spoke with Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this week, signaled that negotiations to end the war were underway.

The event is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. EST.
