Watch: Vance gives remarks from US-Mexico border

Vice President Vance is set to give remarks from the U.S.-Mexico border on Wednesday afternoon, a day after President Trump touted his immigration agenda and knocked the Biden administration for border security issues during his joint address to Congress.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard joined Vance on his visit to El Paso, Texas. Vance is the highest-ranking member of the administration to visit the border since Trump returned to office in January.

The trip follows orders from the Pentagon for up to 5,050 additional troops to be stationed at the border, even as crossings have fallen in recent weeks. It also comes after an additional 25 percent tariff on goods imported into the U.S. from its southern neighbor went into effect on Tuesday.

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 3:20 p.m. EST.
