Scott Kupor, President Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), will testify Thursday morning before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
Kupor, a managing director at a venture capital firm, was tapped for the role in December.
His confirmation hearing comes as the Trump administration faces mounting criticism over mass layoffs across the federal workforce — by way of the OPM and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — and legal battles over frozen funds.
“Thank you @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to serve our country in helping @elonmusk, @VivekGRamaswamy and the entire DOGE team make efficiency a central tenet of the federal government,” Kupor posted on social platform X shortly after the nomination announcement
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT.
