Watch: House Democrats speak as GOP squabbles over Trump agenda

Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.), center, joined by Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.), left, and House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), speaks during a press conference regarding the Taxpayer Date Protection Act on Feb. 6, 2025, in Washington.

House Democratic leaders gave remarks Wednesday morning following their closed-door meeting as their GOP counterparts work to advance President Trump’s legislative priorities.

Their comments also came as Democrats criticize Trump over his anticipated acceptance of a luxury jet from the Qatari royal family. Several lawmakers have called for an ethics probe or at very least a congressional consultation over the Boeing plane that could temporarily replace Air Force One.

Democrats have also slammed the Trump administration for suggesting legal actions be taken against New Jersey lawmakers who attended a protest outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility near Newark, N.J., and then were accused of assaulting officers.

The press conference was led by House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.).

The event was scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. EDT.
