Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer is testifying Thursday morning before a Senate Appropriations Committee panel on the department’s fiscal 2026 budget request.
The Trump administration’s budget proposal for the Labor Department includes significant cuts to federal job training grants and programs. The request comes as the federal workforce continues to reel from the Department of Government Efficiency‘s (DOGE) mass layoffs and spending cuts.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
