Watch: Jeffries gives remarks on US strikes in Iran

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) points to a reporter for a question during a press conference on March 24, 2025, to discuss Medicaid. Jeffries also answered questions on The Atlantic story over the Signal thread with administration officials with the recent attack on Houthis in Yemen.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) spoke Tuesday afternoon, just days after the U.S. military launched strikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran amid its conflict with Israel.

The decision was made without consulting Congress, which has upset many Democratic lawmakers. Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) earlier Tuesday introduced an article of impeachment against the president over the matter, but it was quickly shot down by the GOP.

A dozen House Democrats, who are also veterans, announced support Monday for a war powers resolution that would bar the U.S. from intervening in the Middle East conflict any further.

His remarks were scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
