The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on Wednesday held a hearing on cybersecurity and how to ensure privacy for Americans, including protecting sensitive data within the health care system.

Lawmakers and health sector experts were slated to come together and weigh options for implementing technology to establish privacy protections. The hearing came directly following the committee’s vote on Susan Monarez, President Trump’s pick to serve as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The event was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
