Watch: Greg LeMond, first American to win Tour de France, receives Congressional Gold Medal
Greg LeMond, the first American cyclist to win the Tour de France bike race, received the Congressional Gold Medal Wednesday morning at the Capitol.
LeMond, now 64, finished first in 1986, 1989 and 1990.
LeMond was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal — one of the highest civilian awards — in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the ceremony.
He was scheduled to receive the award at 11 a.m. EDT.
