Lawmakers in the Congressional Progressive Caucus briefed reporters Wednesday morning on top priorities ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

From sweeping cuts to Medicaid and food assistance programs in the newly signed “big, beautiful bill” to how the legislation will affect the national debt in years to come to fractures within the GOP over spending and the Trump administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files to backlash over President Trump’s crackdown on immigration, Democrats have been racking up ways to target vulnerable Republicans in next year’s races.
