Watch: Texas Senate Dems rail against gerrymandering on Voting Rights Act anniversary

Texas Senate Democrats spoke Wednesday morning on their efforts to fight redistricting across the country that they argue are “attempts to rig” congressional maps ahead of the 2026 midterms.

The group, who were joined by other Democratic lawmakers, fled to Massachusetts, Illinois and New York earlier this week to avoid voting on a new GOP-proposed map in the Lone Star State.

Republicans are looking to pick up at least five House seats in next year’s election, which President Trump said they are “entitled” to.

The Democrats’ latest remarks also came on the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act.

The press conference in Boston was scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
