Watch: Spanberger, Earle-Sears face off in Nexstar’s Virginia gubernatorial debate

Former Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) took on Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears in a debate Thursday night ahead of November’s gubernatorial election.

The exclusive debate was hosted by WAVY 10, an NBC affiliate station owned by Nexstar, which also owns The Hill. It marks the only time voters will see the candidates face off before the election.

A recent survey from The Hill/Emerson College Polling shows Spanberger ahead by at least 10 percentage points.

The forum was expected to begin with a preview show at 6:30 p.m. EDT. The debate in Norfolk, Va., is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a wrap-up show at 8 p.m.
