President Biden is set to deliver remarks on the Israel-Gaza war, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government escalates its retaliatory strikes against Hamas following the militant group’s broad attack against Israel over the weekend.
More than 1,000 people have been killed in Israel while authorities in Gaza say more than 800 have died there, The Associated Press reported Tuesday. The Israeli military says the latter figure includes hundreds of Hamas fighters.
At least 11 Americans have died in Israel while more may be held hostage by Hamas, according to U.S. officials.
Biden’s speech is set to take place at 1 p.m. EDT.
