Tear-free Ryan accepts GOP nod for Speaker
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) accepted his conference’s nomination to be House Speaker without tearing up — a departure from current Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).
The Hill’s Molly K. Hooper spoke with several GOP lawmakers who described the behind-closed-door internal conference meeting in which Ryan defeated fellow Rep. Daniel Webster (R-Fla.) as the party’s Speaker-nominee.
