The late Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) will lie in state in the U.S. Capitol’s Sanctuary Hall on Thursday.
The longtime Maryland lawmaker died last week from “complications concerning longstanding health challenges.”
{mosads}The chairman of the powerful House Oversight and Reform Committee will be honored with a memorial service for lawmakers, family and honored guests in the Capitol.
A memorial ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. following a casket arrival ceremony.
A public viewing is set for after the service.
