George Floyd’s brother Philonise Floyd is set testify before a House Judiciary Committee hearing on police practices and accountability Wednesday morning.
Floyd is among a dozen witnesses including civil rights activists and law enforcement.
His remarks before Congress come one day after a funeral service was held in Houston for George Floyd, a black man who died in Minneapolis police custody last month after an officer pinned him to the ground with a knee on his neck for more than eight minutes. Floyd’s death sparked nationwide protests against police brutality toward African Americans.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
