Republican bill targets US terrorists

A GOP lawmaker is pushing his measure to deal with Americans who travel to Syria and other Middle Eastern countries and attempt to re-enter the U.S.

{mosads}Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) explains to The Hill that his bill, the International Conflicts of Concern Act, would require Americans going “into the region … to get a permit. … [I]f you don’t, you are in violation of the law, and when you come back we’re going to prosecute you and put you in jail for a long period of time.”

Wolf’s legislation is backed by former House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Pete King (R-N.Y.).
