Bachmann — The next great rapper?
The office of Rep. Michele Bachmann posted a clip Monday of the Minnesota Republican spitting a few rhymes from the 2012 Macklemore and Ryan Lewis megahit, “Thrift Shop.”
{mosads}“I just have to start laughing whenever I see the word ‘incredible,’” Bachmann says, referring to a line in the rap song.
“I got 20 dollars in my pocket,” the retiring lawmaker, 58, says to the camera before bursting out in laughter.
Spin magazine described the Grammy Award-winning tune as a “rap from a white guy celebrating common sense and sustainability — spending money at the local Goodwill or Salvation Army instead of at the mall or some streetwear boutique.”
While it’s unclear when Bachmann, a 2012 GOP presidential candidate, filmed her rap, someone off-camera during the seemingly impromptu jam session is heard telling her, “After you retire, we’ll post it.”
The lawmaker ends her term this Congress.
