Chelsea Clinton on Hillary’s 2016 decision: ‘I’m waiting too’
Chelsea Clinton says she’s “waiting too” to hear whether her mom is throwing her hat in the 2016 race for the White House.
Asked by People magazine whether she has any news to share about a potential Hillary Clinton run, Chelsea Clinton responded, “No, I’m waiting too. It’s really sweet how my mom is just so clearly happy being a grandma, and I know she’s going to be a great grandma, whatever other choices she makes in her life.”
{mosads}Chelsea Clinton appears to be staying busy during that waiting game. As vice chairwoman of her family’s Clinton Foundation charity, she is teaming up with Sesame Workshop and an organization called Text4Baby to promote reading, talking and singing to young children. The new mom filmed a video with “Sesame Street’s” Elmo that was released Wednesday to support the initiative.
“I try really hard to be a good mommy,” Chelsea Clinton, who gave birth to daughter Charlotte in September, says in the clip. “I think it’s the most important job in the world.”
“I read her the news every morning,” Chelsea Clinton says of Charlotte in her interview. “She agrees with me on everything right now.”
Chelsea Clinton, 34, adds her family even has showdowns for which member gets to grab a book and sit down with the 4-month-old. “We all kind of compete to see who’s going to read her stories,” she said.
