O’Malley sings Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ on ‘The View’
Count Martin O’Malley on Team Taylor.
The Democratic presidential candidate is entering a supposedly long-simmering feud between two pop giants, offering up his rendition of Taylor Swift mega-hit “Bad Blood” during a Tuesday appearance on “The View.”
{mosads}O’Malley, the lead singer in the Celtic and folk rock band he founded more than 20 years ago, O’Malley’s March, pulled out an emerald green guitar to sing a few lines from Swift’s recent single, which is reportedly about a behind-the-scenes battle with fellow pop star Katy Perry.
“Katy Perry, I’m told, is doing a benefit concert for one of my opponents in Iowa,” O’Malley told the hosts of the ABC daytime chatfest. The “Dark Horse” singer is poised to perform for Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s supporters ahead of Saturday’s Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Des Moines.
“So in response,” O’Malley said, “I thought I’d offer this up for Taylor Swift.”
“Because baby, now we’ve got bad blood,” the former Maryland governor sang.
“You know it used to be mad love,” he continued with the tune’s chorus, with some of “The View” co-hosts chiming in.
“So take a look at what you’ve done,” O’Malley sang as he strummed the guitar.
“Now we’ve got bad blood!”
