Rep. André Carson (D-Ind.) is throwing his support behind Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) to become the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
{mosads}Carson, one of two Muslims serving in the House alongside Ellison, argued Democrats should confront “xenophobia, racism and Islamophobia” in their party.
“Keith Ellison is my friend. … He’s a Muslim like me, and I think it’s time for us, if we are truly the Democratic Party, to confront our own xenophobia, racism and Islamophobia,” Carson said in an interview with The Hill’s Molly K. Hooper.
