Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kansas) will be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal on Wednesday in honor of his service.
President Trump and congressional leaders will attend the ceremony at the Capitol.
{mosads}Dole was the only former GOP presidential nominee to back Trump during the 2016 presidential election.
The ceremony is expected to begin at 3 p.m.
