A memorial service for George Floyd is set for Thursday afternoon in Minneapolis to honor the unarmed black man who died after a white police officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes during an arrest.
The Rev. Al Sharpton will reportedly deliver the eulogy for Floyd at a small and intimate memorial service at Minneapolis’s North Central University.
The memorial comes amid widespread protests across the country against racial injustice and police brutality following Floyd’s death.
The memorial is scheduled for 2 p.m.
