WATCH: Action on pot bills to pick up after recess, Cannabis Caucus rep says

Measures dealing with legal pot businesses and medicinal marijuana should see action after Congress’s April recess, according to a co-founder of the Cannabis Caucus.

{mosads}Up first is likely to be medical marijuana research legislation, which “is something that even people who are opposed to marijuana legalization understand we need more and better research” on, Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) told The Hill.

“Second, opportunities … to allow marijuana businesses that are legal to be taxed fairly,” he added.

“We have progress on the horizon for legislation that would provide for fair taxation … and on a bipartisan basis people are dealing with veterans access to medicinal marijuana,” he said.

“We anticipate brisk progress after the April recess.”
