WATCH: Sen. Manchin says GOP ‘won’t talk’ to Dems on tax reform

GOP Senators won’t include centrist Democrats in tax reform talks, according to a key moderate Democratic Senator.

“I want to get to tax reform, I truly do, but I’d like to have some input and be involved” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) told The Hill, adding, “(Republicans) won’t talk to us, I haven’t been asked to come into any of the meetings.”

Manchin, earlier this month, organized a meeting between a handful of moderate Democrats and key White House officials Gary Cohn and Marc Short to discuss areas of compromise on tax reform.

“We think there’s a pathway forward if we all just work together,” Manchin said.

If Republicans remove the ObamaCare individual mandate repeal from their tax-reform package, Manchin says he’s “looking” at the issue of so-called “pass-through” corporations, a sticking point for the GOP.

“We think there’s a pathway forward if we all just work together,” Manchin said.
