GOP senator: US forces will get Kony within two years

A top Republican predicts the Obama administration will take out Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony within the next two years.

{mosads}Senate Armed Services Committee ranking member Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) credits the Obama administration for recently committing U.S. resources to go after the war criminal.

The Oklahoma Republican said “we’ll be successful in doing this within the next year … We should be able to get this monster.”

Inhofe, who has visited Africa more than 130 times, has long pressed the administration to join the fight to capture or kill Kony. The elusive warlord is responsible for kidnapping thousands of children in villages throughout Uganda and training them to become soldiers.

In March, the Obama administration formally alerted Congress it was sending helicopters and more U.S. forces to hunt for the head of the Lord’s Resistance Army.
