Trump won’t release medical exam results on Dr. Oz show

The results of Donald Trump’s recent medical exam won’t be revealed when the GOP presidential nominee appears on “The Dr. Oz Show” this week.

Television personality Mehmet Oz had been expected to release the results of Trump’s recent physical when the GOP presidential nominee appears on his show Thursday.

{mosads}But Trump campaign aides said the interview will instead focus on general health issues like the importance of an active lifestyle and positive thinking, as well as health-related political issues.

And while the interview is expected to touch on Trump’s fitness for office — especially in light of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s recent pneumonia diagnosis — it won’t delve into results from Trump’s recent exam or lab work.

Oz told Fox News Radio’s “Kilmeade & Friends” that he would only touch on parts of the physical that Trump was open to discussing and wouldn’t delve into uncomfortable topics. He added he wouldn’t talk about Clinton’s health at all.

And after the interview, host Brian Kilmeade suggested that Oz would deliver Trump’s test results live on air.

Trump will tape the interview Wednesday, and it will air Thursday.

Oz is a Republican who endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for president in 2008.

The GOP presidential nominee underwent a physical last week, before Clinton’s diagnosis, and the results of it are expected to be released this week.

Trump has sought to frame the release of his medical information as a measure of transparency as his allies accuse Clinton of being too secretive about her recent diagnosis.

But it’s unlikely that the Oz interview will amount to a thorough discussion of his medical information, so those interested in Trump’s health records will have to wait until those specific documents are released by the campaign.

The only current medical information from Trump is a short, oft-criticized letter from his doctor released last year, which claims Trump would be the healthiest person ever elected president.

Dr. Harold Bornstein revealed last month that he spent five minutes writing that letter while a limo was waiting outside his office.
